This is a conceptual design of a pilot plant for electricity generation based on the hybridization of solar-thermal technology and direct combustion of biomass.

The hybrid plant, with a gross electrical output less or equal than 2 MWe, consisting of a solar thermoelectric conventional parabolic trough to which is added to a system of independent thermal generation based on various boilers for direct biomass combustion. In addition to the field of solar collectors and boilers burning biomass, the plant has a thermal generating system for heating auxiliary thermal transfer fluid through the combustion of natural gas.
